A new study, headed by Dr. Marcus Cooke of the University of Leicester, is examining the potential connection between the intake of caffeine in pregnancy and the increased risk of childhood leukaemia. “We want to find out whether consuming caffeine could lead to the sort of DNA changes in the baby that are linked to risk of leukaemia,” said Dr Cooke.
